Community

Community

Residents all enjoy a safe, fulfilling and warm caring home. Residents and their families are listened to, respected and supported to live a full life while remaining connected to your family and friends and the wider community. Residents’ happiness and quality of life is our priority. We take the time to get to know residents so that they can continue to live their lives in keeping with their individual lifestyle choice.

Accommodation

Altadore comprises 58 bright and airy, single, ensuite bedrooms. There are also 2 double occupancy bedrooms which are perfect for 2 family members to share.

All rooms contain a selection of furniture and facilities to ensure residents’ comfort. This includes a height adjustable single bed, wardrobe, bedside locker, reading table, lounge chair, plus a wall-mounted TV as standard. There is a Residents Guide in all the bedrooms. This will give details of all the activities including additional services such as hairdressing.

Residents are encouraged to bring special items from home to personalise their environment.

Gardens

Altadore has lots of indoor and outdoor space. The courtyards and patio areas make a lovely space for residents to enjoy the outdoors sitting in the sunshine, reading, walking or enjoying many other activities.

Social Engagement

Communal rooms and breakout spaces provide opportunities for social engagement. A wide range of indoor and outdoor activities are available to meet residents’ needs and interests. There is something for everyone. Particular emphasis is placed on activities that promote physical, cognitive, spiritual and social wellbeing. These include music, exercise sessions, arts & crafts, storytelling, walking programme, current affairs, specialised dementia therapies and many more.

Local Community

The local community is very much a part of life at Altadore. Our prime location enables our residents to remain part of the community. Local schools regularly visit particularly for seasonal celebrations. Several residents continue their involvement with local activities and our residents enjoy attending local events in the library, cinema or just going out for a coffee or an ice-cream.

We have an open visiting policy and other than at meal times visitors are welcome at any time.
